You do not have to be vegan to be part of our group, but you must bring vegan food to any potlucks and order only vegan options at any restaurant outings.
Our current focus is organizing a regular monthly potluck in the Champaign-Urbana area. If you would like to host a potluck, please let us know!

GAP is a young adult ministry at Windsor Road Christian Church. We strive to fill the GAP between college and other adult ministries and focus on connecting young adults through fellowship and service. Our members include graduate students, young professionals in their 20's and 30's, single people, married people, people with kids, and people with pets.
This is a group for like minded artists who enjoy photography as their hobby. My aim in starting this group is to organize shootout events throughout the town and surrounding areas, and get together at the end of each event to compare and discuss our pictures and technique, and give critique to each other.

Come meet other local families and their young children for a chance to make new friends and to get out of the house. We do a variety of playdates that include, private homes, parks, arts and crafts and holiday parties. All parents are welcome!
Meet with a local group of people who want to develop their intuitive skills. This will be an experiential workshop. We will learn about and practice different ways to sense things. You'll learn which are the main ways you sense and bring information in. Exercises will cover areas from aura drawing to remote viewing to reading a person ( and more!). No prior experience needed. Some of the exercises we have done so far are Aura drawing using our intuition, Past life reading, and a past life pertinent to this current life reading. Every workshop we will be exploring our intuitive skills, which is part of being human! So come explore with us!

What it is: A group of guys playing basketball for fun and exercise. This will be a relaxed atmosphere, we will call our own fouls and have a great feeling of brotherhood and sportsmanship. All skill levels are welcome.
What it is NOT: This is not NBA try outs. This is not for ball hogs. This is not 'go for the jugular' and 'win at all costs' basketball. Although we are playing at the church and starting with prayer, this is not an official church activity (i.e. no referees, scoreboard, clock, stake called supervisors, etc.). I.e. this is not "church ball."
Who is invited: LDS men in the Champaign stake (or visitors of any faith) who are willing to play nice, start the activity with prayer, keep their language clean and uplifting, and contribute to the fun and brotherhood.
When: Every Tuesday & Thursday morning from 6:30 until about 7:30am (those who want to stay and play later are welcome to do so).
Logistics: We'll start with prayer and then divide up the teams so that they are somewhat even (accounting for height and skill level as best as we can). The first 10 to arrive are the first to play, and any that arrive after that will come in after the first game. We'll just play several short games and rotate teams or players as needed.

This group will provide an opportunity to speak Spanish in a relaxed and non-judgmental atmosphere for people who want to practice and maintain their Spanish language skills.
All skill levels are welcome but we will be speaking exclusively in Spanish (it's the best way to learn!).
[I am organizing this group because I recently came back from an extended stay in Chile and want to keep up my language skills. I organized a previous Spanish Language Meetup in another city and found it very helpful in maintaining my conversation skills.]

Looking to start a trading group (name to be determined) to teach, share, and motivate. Tentatively our first meeting will be late winter. First, however, I'm looking for a small core of dedicated persons that will make executive decisions such as the lessons and meeting frequency and likely lead the meeting as a presenter on a rotating basis. Once three or five persons are selected, and area interest is such that 20 people are interest we will announce the first meeting. The goal is to have the executive core form and meet by mid January. From there our first open meeting to be in mid February or March 2012. The open group will strive to meet twice a month on Saturday mornings, 9am - noon; we would be sharing our trading education and analysis of the popular markets while sharing part or all or our tools for success. The main expectation is that we learn from each other. Example topics range from beginning trading to advanced strategies to trading platforms and trading plan development, etc. No financial market will be untouched if there's open group interest. Cost to attending meetings will be small; approximate cost will be determined by dividing cost by interest of attendance. In other words, we will not make a profit. Please let me know by contacting me ASAP if you have an interest in sharing and leading as an executive member.
All K-5 schoolkids should learn a world language, so let's start a CU-NNELL: National Network of Early Language Learning. It would promote the GLOBAL idea: Global Language Opportunities Benefiting All Learners. Allied with the national organization, we could form our local group, put together an agenda, and work to get a language teacher in every elementary school in CU.
